Illness Policy

Children who are mildly ill WILL BE accepted into day care. ie, slight cough, runny nose, sneezing.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, they will not be allowed in day care:
.............Fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher)
.............Diarrhea
.............Vomiting
.............Rash
.............Lice
.............Communicable diseases, ie. chicken pox, pink eye, flu, etc.
.............If a child is just plain miserable and cannot participate in daily activities

The child must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to care. In certain cases, a doctor's note will be required.

If symptoms appear during day care hours, you will be contacted and you or your alternate are expected to pick up the child as soon as possible. If you do not pick up the child in a timely manner, this may be a reason for termination of services.

Please do not mask your child's symptoms with over the counter medications and bring them to day care. This puts the other day care children and the provider at risk of exposure to a possibly contagious illness. This may be a reason for termination of services.

Your child's health has a direct effect on the other children as well as myself. Please use your best judgment in determining if your child should come to day care. If you are not sure, please call and consult with me.

If a medical emergency occurs during day care hours, you will be contacted immediately. If necessary, your child will be transported to the nearest hospital via ambulance. Parents/guardians are responsible for costs involving medical treatment including transportation if necessary.
